Special message from the owners, Sarah Hemker and Ross Patzner:

Welcome to Fountain City, Wi!  We would like to thank our guests for staying at our Inns and helping to support our local community.   We hope you enjoy our quaint river town as we do!  Please don’t hesitate to reach out to the Innkeeper’s if you need anything while you stay with us.

A little about us!

We purchased the Joseph Fugina Home and the Prairie School home in the fall of 2016.  The Prairie School Home which was a full house rental only;  we sold in the fall of 2018 due to our business model changing, it is no longer being previewed on our websites.  This was a very hard decision, but we found that our suite rental is much more suited for our Inn business.

The Farmhouse

Joseph Fugina House

As a replacement to The Prairie Schoolhouse;  we purchased a 1800’s farmhouse on the edge of town that we finished, named  “The Farmhouse”,  we restored this home in  2018-2019.   Our goal with this home was to also run it as an Inn in replacement to the Prairie School Home.  However due to many set backs and cost over rides we had to put this home for sale, which we close on this Spring.  The good news!  WE have another  wonderful family moving to town!

Originally when we started this business in 2016, we were not sure at first what we were going to do with the homes, but preserve a piece of Fountain Cities history. We have the “bug” of restoration and we can seem to sit or relax!  We also own the historic “Golden Frog Restaurant and Saloon,” and through the years talking to our customers and realizing how many tourists come through town and do not make their overnight reservations beforehand, which leaves many without accommodations, now we can help! Also in talking with many citizens of the town, Fountain City has a lack of B&B style accommodations, the idea of opening up Bed & Breakfast style Inn’s was born!

The Inns’s can be rented as whole house rentals too.  We have had many guests rent these homes for family reunions, ladies or men’s retreats, work events,  weddings and receptions.

The reason why we called these homes “Inns,” in case you are curious, we do not live on site and we are not serving a breakfast. Our restaurant, the Golden Frog, does serve breakfast on Sundays, and there are 2 other establishments in town that serve breakfast. So no worries, you can still be fed! As a bonus to our guests for staying with us, you will receive a coupon for 10% off your meals at the Golden Frog for your entire stay at our Inns — Wow!  Come and enjoy our historic restaurant and saloon, take note of the original bar floor and enjoy looking at the old pictures of Fountain City and the Golden Frog.  Full menu, bar and in the summer enjoy our outdoor patio!

We have always enjoyed history and being able to purchase and restore these 3 homes has been an amazing adventure.   We have tried to keep the integrity and period time features to these homes as much as possible, but also giving them the a comfortable and “chic” style and feel that is so popular of today. We want you to feel like you are home and come back to stay.

The Inn Keepers are Bev and Jeff Heitland, Sarah’s parents. They had decided to semi-retire from their home in Iowa and move to this beautiful area to be around the family and enjoy spending time with their grandchildren.  Please feel free to say hello to them as they will be around caring for the homes and assisting to your needs.  If you do call the Inn’s phone number, Jeff and Bev are the one’s answering the phone.  We do not carry the phone 24/7, so please leave a message and it is checked periodically throughout the day.

We would love to hear from you as our special guests! If you have any input on how we can improve your stay or accommodations, please let us know. We are always evolving as a business and you our customers are our main focus. Your happiness is our happiness!

We would appreciate if after your stay, if you have time to please give us a review online.  In this culture, giving us or any business online reviews helps us with our online marketing and exposure.

Thank you kindly and enjoy your stay at our Inn!
